Privacy policy
What happens to the information you send me through this website. In short: I use it to get back to you about dancing, and I never sell it.
Who I am
This website belongs to Gabby Meza, working as Grooves with Gabby, a dance instructor teaching in Livingston and Lyndhurst, New Jersey. If you have any question about this policy or about your information, email grooveswithgabby@gmail.com.
What I collect
When you fill in the inquiry form, I receive what you type into it:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- What you are looking to learn
- The date or timeline for your goal
- Your weekly availability
- The best time to call you
- Which service you selected: instruction, choreography, coaching or performance
If we go on to work together, I also keep ordinary business records such as lesson dates, attendance and payments. If you contact me by email, text, phone or social media, I keep that correspondence too.
Please do not send sensitive information through this form. I do not need financial account details or government ID numbers, and you should only tell me about an injury or physical limitation to the extent it helps me teach you safely.
Why I collect it
- To reply to your inquiry and call you at a time that suits you
- To schedule and run lessons, and to reach you if a time changes
- To keep records of bookings and payments
- To send occasional updates about classes and availability, only if you have asked to receive them
You can tell me to stop contacting you at any time and I will.
Who else sees it
I do not sell, rent or trade your information. I share it only with the services I use to run the business, and only so they can do their job:
- Website hosting: Vercel, which serves this site
- Email delivery: Google (Gmail), which carries my email to and from you
- Client records: Supabase, which receives your form submission and stores my record of inquiries, lessons and payments
- Payments: this site does not take payments. Lessons are paid directly, usually by Zelle, which is handled by your own bank. I never see or store card numbers or bank credentials — only a note of the amount, the date and the method
I may also share information where the law requires it, or where it is genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety.
Lessons for children. I teach students of all ages, including children, but this form is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to make the inquiry for you.
I do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Where I hold information about a child student, a parent or guardian gave it to me, and I use it only to arrange and run that child's lessons and to reach the adult responsible. A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete their child's information at any time.
Photographs and video of any student, and of children especially, are only taken or shared with separate written permission from the student, or from a parent or guardian for a minor. That permission can be withdrawn at any time.
How long I keep it
If you make an inquiry and we never work together, I keep it for two years in case you come back to it, then delete it.
If you become a student, I keep your records while you are studying with me and for seven years afterwards, so I have the business and tax records I am required to keep. After that they are deleted. You can ask me to delete your information sooner and I will, unless I am legally required to keep a specific record.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to show you what I hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete it, or stop sending you updates. Email grooveswithgabby@gmail.com and I will take care of it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under your local law, and I will honor those too.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies of any kind. Nothing about your visit is measured or sold.
The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google to display them. See Google's privacy policy.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information and use established providers to store it. No website can promise perfect security, but I will not ask for information I do not need, and I will not keep it longer than I have to.
Links to other sites
This site links to places like Instagram and to the studios where I teach. Once you follow a link away from here, that organization's privacy policy applies instead of mine.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date below.
